Protein Sludge and my morning drink

This morning was a great morning – it started off with my favorite breakfast and also my go to breakfast drink.

Protein Sludge and ACV Lemonade

Now I know that might not sound too yummy but trust me – it is!

And both of these things are great for you – so if you give it a try, you’ll be starting your day off on the right foot in two ways!

 

So protein sludge – is totally better than it sounds, because well it sounds like bad oil in a car or something….so it has to be better than that lol.

It is basically yogurt, protein powder, flax and chia seeds and some cereal thrown in to give it some crunch. But let me walk you through it so you can see what I mean.

First you do about 1 cup of yogurt

Then you add your protein powder – I use orgain which I love! It tastes so great and has not artificial ingredients. Totally give it a try – I buy mine at Costco.

Next add in Flax/ chia seeds – this is just the little bit of extra sparkle that makes this breakfast shine. This stuff is amazing!! There are so many great benefits to chia seeds and flax seeds – they are both high in omega 3’s, high in fiber, and full of antioxidants. Just give them a try, trust me on this. I use 2 tbsps.

Next we have our cocoa powder. You don’t have to do this but I think it makes the sludge just a little more chocolatey  and who doesn’t love chocolate. I sure do, thats for sure.

After that just add in the cheerios or any of your favorite cereal and your all done! Just eat it and enjoy the deliciousness!!

So now onto my morning drink – Apple Cider Vinegar and Tru Lemon Lemonade

img_1941I drink this # 1 because it is amazing and #2 for all the amazing health benefits. Apple Cider Vinegar – or as I like to say ACV is a absolutely wonderful health supplement that is so easy to add into your day. You can do what I do or put in in a salad dressing – but my way is so much easier lol.

So the benefits of my beloved ACV include:

  • Reduces bloating
  • Increases the amount of nutrients you absorb from other foods
  • Helps keep you full for a long time
  • Kills bad breath
  • Balances your bodies ph – which help you have strong bones
  • Helps your blood pressure and cholesterol
  • Natural energy drink

Ok – I could go on and on, but you get the idea. It is basically a super food that so many people are missing out on. It is totally worth drinking just 1 tbsp a day.

The key is to get the real stuff. The real ACV has “the Mother” in it. Basically is the the cloudy stuff at the bottom of the bottle. The cheap vinegar usually has had it filtered out, so make sure you get the organic unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar – because that’s where the magic is at.
